Kala Point is a central point for day trips to sites on the Olympic Peninsula as well as to Seattle, Olympia or a short ferry ride to Whidbey Island. You can head west which takes you to the ocean beaches, beautiful lakes, rain forest and varied points of the Olympic National Park. It makes a long day, but you can loop back up a scenic drive along Hood Canal. Sequim and Silverdale are the closest towns for city type shopping.
Hurricane Ridge: amazing views and hiking trails from visitor center at top. This is part of Olympic National Park, so there will be a day-use fee or Golden Eagle pass required. Follow signs to road in Port Angeles.
